ACCESS TO THE ARTS

Breaking Down Barriers

Access to the Arts is a non-profit organization that provides scholarships and financial assistance to Sioux Falls area youth interested in performing arts including dance, theatre, and vocals. We are rooted in the belief that everyone should have access to the arts and should not be hindered by the cost of participation.

Why is Performing Arts Important?

Self-expression

Dance, acting and singing equips students with the means to express ideas, feelings, and opinions. This can translate to bigger, real world situations and helps students to convey their thoughts and ideas.

Creativity + Team Work

Performing arts gives students opportunities to solve problems, see a new perspective, and think outside of the box. It also allows students to learn to work together despite differences and toward a common goal.

Academic Success

Children who sing/dance/act are four times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement compared with those who did not participate in those activities.

APPLICATIONS OPEN NOW
